Recycled Silk from Mango Moon's is a multi-color silk yarn made from recycled silk saris, the traditional garment of East Asian women. Unlike other recycled yarn blends, our yarn is soft, light weight and never coarse, because it contains no synthetic materials. This yarn supports a shelter in India whose goal is to help women who have been rescued from abusive situations. The women who come to the shelter are able to use their spinning and knitting skills to rebuild their lives, while continuing to care for their children. Proceeds provide a safe shelter, healthcare, education, and the dignity of financial independence.
